Strong women aren't simply born. We are forged through the challenges of life. With each challenge we grow mentally and emotionally. We move forward with our head held high and a strength that can not be denied. A woman whose been through the storm & survived.
We are warriors!!
Texas Boudoir Studio Celebrates Women
Shutteressence Boudoir does an annual Halloween shoot, but this year owner Vicky Shearin wanted to do things a bit different. She wanted to celebrate women and the strength they have for survival. Every women has a story of survival. Each of these women photographed in what they felt portrayed their warrior inside have survived illness, heartache, abuse or lose, yet they continue doing what needs to be done like a true warrior.
Ms H
Raising a child is hard, even more a challenge for a single mom. Financial struggles and lack of support to name a few. Finding a way to balance work life and parenting takes a toll. Guilt, stress and fatigue it is all part of single parenting life. But single moms like Holly do it every day. They may cry behind closed doors, but they face the challenges head on and never back down!

Ms. J
In the past Ms J has battled through mental, physical and verbal abuse and battles depression yet here was she has to say: I will always fight for my family, my husband, my kids and grandkids!! Don’t mess with my family. I try to stay strong everyday, but battle with depression all the time. You only live once so you better fight everyday to make your dreams come true! I'm here to conquer the world!!

Ms. C
More than a decade struggling with addiction, fighting to get custody back, losing everything more than twice to start over, yet here is what Ms. C had to say: Here I am years later with my true mate in life, better and stronger than I’ve ever EVER been. I prove I’m a warrior every day. Also, when it comes to my family, there is nothing I won’t do to protect them. I will ALWAYS be there biggest advocate, their biggest cheerleader, and their most fierce defender….

Ms L
Our very own assistant Lanette says this about feeling like a warrior: I will fight tooth and nail for my family, my village like a true warrior woman should, not afraid to lose a battle I'm afraid of what happens if you don't fight for what you want or love.

ShutterEssences own Vicky Shearin
This is the 1st time I have participated in a session other than photographer. I felt I am a warrior & should own it. Being a cancer survivor, autoimmune fighter, mom, step mom, adopted mom, special needs mom to not 1, but 3 autistic children from 7 to 28 years old. I wanted to include my adopted autistic daughter as well because she is what warriors are made of!

Here's to strong Women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.
